Card for a boy

A while ago I made this card för my daugthers best friend who had his 5th birthday and she was invited to his birthday party. 

The stamp I used is Kille med armarna i kors.

Hi again!

Today I am going to show you how to make your own flower using a heart shaped punch.

My punch makes a heart that is quite long and narrow, but if you have a punch that makes more "round" hearts that works aswell. Maybe you just need to make them overlap eachother a bit or not use as many.

This is what you need:

Scraps of two different papers (cardstock or designpaper does not matter)

Heart shaped punch

Scissor

Glue

Chalk

One bigger brad

Punch out 8 hearts of one color and 4 of the other color

Chalk the edges

You need a round piece of paper as a base to glue the hearts on. If you have a round punch thats perfect, but if you dont, do what I did and make a circle with the help of something round and cut it out :)

Put glue on the circle and begin to attach 4 of the 8 hearts opposite to eachother

Then attach the 4 of the other color on top, like in the picture

The 4 remaining hearts I cut a bit smaller

Then attach them in the middle (Oops sorry about my finger there lol! Noticed that just now :)

Make a hole for the brad

Done! Maybe you need to "bend up" each heart a bit so the flower isnt all flat

This is a card I made and decorated with this kind of flower (not the one in the pictures above though :)

The stamp I used is Vera som surpricedam

Hi all!

Today it is my turn to give you this weeks sketch and it looks like this:

It is a card for my dad who has his 65th birthday tomorrow and who also retires from his job as a carpenter.

I used the stamps SnickarVille and Gratulerar.

I will be back tomorrow again with a little tip on how you can make your own flower with the help of a heartshaped punch!

Card for a boy

Good morning! I thought I would show you a card I did for a friend who recently had a baby boy. It is a swing card and I used three stamps on it: Bubben, Text Välkommen till världen swirlig and Blomster liten.

Tuesday Tip by Elli: some different foldings

Hello!

When I make a card I usually take a cardstock, cut it in half and fold it like on the picture below. And my guess is that it is the most common folding of them all. But I thought that I would show you some other easy and quick foldings, all based on half a cardstock. (Here I have trimmed it to 15 x 30cm to make the measurements easier.)

To begin with: Here is the Gatefold in two different versions.

1. on the side:

Score at ex. 10cm and 25cm

2. in the middle:

Score at 7,5cm and 22,5cm

And here is how the middle gatefold can look when the card is done: (the tricky part is how to close, here I used two brads and a piece of string)

Here is a card with half a front. Just make a straight cut from the middle and down to the left corner of the paper like the picture shows.

And here is what a finished card can look like:

Here we have the s-fold (z-fold) card:

Score at 7,5cm and 15cm and fold like in the picture.

A finished card: (you need something like a ribbon to close the card)

And finally the double s-fold (or double z-fold):

Score at 5, 10, 20 and 25cm

And a finished card: (Same with this one, you need a ribbon to close the card)

Hello!

Today it is my turn to give you this weeks sketch and I made a quite simple rectangular one. My plan is to base most of my christmas cards this year on this sketch, then I hopefully will get them done in time before christmas :)

And here is the first christmas card this year: (I turned the sketch around for this one) The card is 15 x 10,5 cm.

I used the stamps Julvätte and God Jul med rosett.

Tea box

Hi!

My mom asked me if I could make a tea box that she wanted to give to a friend for her birthday, so I made this one for her. Tesa made the original template and it can be found HERE. I used the stamp Kram på dig from Stämpelkällan.

Hej!

Jag tänkte visa ett kort som en liten nyfödd tjej fick i förra veckan. Jag har använt stämplarna Bubben, Välkommen till världen swirlig och på insidan Hjärtswirl hörne mindre.

Tuesday Tip by Elli: Swing card

Hello and welcome to my Tuesday Tip! Today I am going to show you how to make a Swing card. It is a fun fold and easy to make. I will write the measurements in both cm and inches so you can choose wich one you want to use.

Start by cutting a piece of cardstock in 14 x 17,2 cm (5-1/2"x 6-3/4").

Place the paper with the long side upwards in the paper trimmer if you have one with a scoring blade. Otherwise use ruler and scoring tool.

At 7 cm (2-3/4") score 3,2 cm (1-1/4") in from both the top and bottom edge.

And at 10,2 cm (4") score again 3,2 cm (1-1/4") in from top and bottom edge. Now it should look like this:

Turn the cardstock and place it in the paper trimmer. Now use the cutting blade.

At 10,8 cm (4-1/4") line the blade up at 3,5 cm (1-3/8") and cut down to the score line.

Then keep the paper in the same place and line the blade up at 13,7 cm (5-3/8") and cut up to the other score line.

Turn the paper and repeat this step on the other side. Then it looks like this:

Place the cardstock again with the long side upwards in the paper trimmer.

At 3,5 cm (1-3/8") cut between the two lines already cut.

Turn the paper and repeat this step on the other side and it looks like this:

Then fold like this:

And then decorate as you like :)

This is my finished card where I used the stamp Idag ska du firas:

This is a swing card I made a while ago:

It is a bit bigger than the first one to make room for the stamp San med blomsterbukett. And also I cut the design paper so that it covers most of the card. It takes a bit more measuring and cutting but looks nice I think.

Ettårskort

En liten tjej vid namn Alma fyllde ett år för ett tag sedan och till henne gjorde jag det här kortet. Det är ett "recessed window card", vet inte vad det kallas på svenska, kanske ramkort? Hur som helst var det ett kul kort att göra. Jag har använt supersöta draken Ernie som jag färglagt med akvarellpennor och även lite stickles.

Kort till en ettåring

Hej! Jag tänkte visa ett trifoldkort jag gjorde till en tjej som fyllde ett år häromveckan. Jag använde den söta Fia med tårta som jag målade med akvarellpennor och lade på lite glitter på glorian och 3D-lack på bären. För första gången sydde jag längs kanterna och det var ju riktigt skoj, så det blir fler gånger :) Kortet hålls ihop av ett band som knyts framtill.
